Help with Golf Journal

Stuck, found a bug, or have an idea? Email hello@veglog.app, or use Send feedback in the app's Settings. You'll hear back from the person who makes Golf Journal, usually within a couple of days. It helps to mention your iPhone or iPad model and the version of Golf Journal (it's at the bottom of Settings in the app).

Common questions

How do I get my rounds onto my iPad as well?

Sign in to the same Apple Account on both devices with iCloud turned on for Golf Journal (Settings, your name, iCloud). Your diary syncs automatically. There's nothing to set up in the app, and no account to create.

I've updated from an older version. Are my rounds still there?

Yes. Golf Journal 2.0 brings across every round, course, practice session and photo from earlier versions when it first opens. If something looks missing, give iCloud a minute to sync, then email us before deleting anything.

I've bought Pro but it isn't showing

Open Settings in Golf Journal and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you bought it with.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Golf Journal. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Why is my handicap different from my official one?

Golf Journal gives an estimate from the rounds you log, using the World Handicap System formula. Your club's official index also adjusts for the day's playing conditions, caps how fast it can rise, applies net double bogey on every hole and includes rounds you might not have logged. If you have an official Handicap Index, enter it in Settings and Golf Journal uses it for course handicap, net score and Stableford points.

My course isn't in the lookup

Course lookup uses OpenStreetMap, which doesn't have every course, and never has course ratings. Add the course yourself with its tees, course rating, slope and par from the scorecard. You can add the par and stroke index for every hole too.

My Apple Watch rounds don't appear

Record your round as a Golf workout in the Workout app on Apple Watch, and make sure Golf Journal is allowed to read workouts in the Health app (Sharing, Apps, Golf Journal). New golf workouts then show up on the Rounds screen ready to save.

How do I switch between yards and metres?

Open Settings in Golf Journal and choose yards or metres under Distances.

How do I export my rounds?

With Golf Journal Pro, open Settings and choose Export: your rounds as a CSV spreadsheet, or a printable PDF season report.
